On October 6th, 2024, INK hosted a symposium on the Indian Knowledge System at King’s College, bringing together a distinguished delegation of senior academics from India. The event commenced with an introduction by Prof. Sunil Poshakwale, who outlined INK’s mission and ongoing activities, warmly welcoming the participants.
The keynote address was delivered by Prof. Sat Prakash Bansal, Hon. Vice Chancellor of the Central University of Himachal Pradesh, India. In his speech, Prof. Bansal highlighted the importance of understanding “India” and “Indianness” as essential frameworks for researching the applications of Indian knowledge across academic disciplines.
Prof. Sandeep Kulshrestha, drawing from his extensive experience in the tourism industry, underscored the significance of Indian traditions and culture in the development of the hospitality and tourism sectors. His insights demonstrated the contemporary relevance of these ancient systems.
The symposium also featured an interactive session led by Prof. Jagannadha Pawan Tamvada, which focused on the potential development of a scholarly journal dedicated to promoting Indian knowledge. This session encouraged thought-provoking discussions on advancing academic engagement with Indian intellectual traditions
